Roughhouse Rafael Released

The New style boss fight is hear, and so far I'm not impressed....

You will find the boss fight on the first module of your home page, once clicking go fight your will be taken to your operations page and into the boss fight

If you stopped to click Learn More you would find this oh so helpful popup telling you where to get consumables, as well as the option to buy them for 1RP

The Boss fight its self is nice, nothing over the top as you can see i was well prepared and had just 20 hitpoints going into my boss fight
But having low health isn't a issue with these boss fights as you can heal during the fight, it Only uses the cash from the city your active in currently but its nice to be able to heal during the boss fights for a change

As for the Combos there are 3 to unlock I'm assuming a easy, medium and hard one.... No idea why the Medium one does more damage then the hard one but it does

And lastly here are 2 of the 3 Combos for the new Boss fights the Easy, and the Medium one which does the most damage

So far this just seems like another SPAM event in Disguise sure we can now heal during a boss fight, but now that you have to HUNT for consumables to do damage to the boss, it now a case of who has the most energy/stamina is going to defeat the boss the fastest with no advantage to the strongest player any more.
The only advantages Ive seen so far, is healing during the fight, and no boss regen (so far)

New Boss Fights

Today we got a blog post on the official blog about the new Boss Fights

New Boss Fight Defeat Roughhouse RafaelThe Boss Fight you know and love has been upgraded! This is the first of a number of exciting fighting features coming to Mafia Wars this quarter! In this Boss Fight, you’ll be tasked with taking out Roughhouse Rafael, and you’re given one week to do it!
A full week of fighting?... Sounds like only those with high stamina will survive. On the contrary, stamina has nothing to do with this fight! Instead, you will need to collect 4 new ammos from jobs, wars, robbing, and, should you choose, gifting to bring down Roughhouse.
As for the new ammos, our informants tell us that it would be unwise to assume that any one ammo is the best and use it the whole time. Apparently, the ammos, when used in certain sequences, unlock particularly damaging combos!  You will have the opportunity to discover one such combo by completing a Quest Event that will run during the Boss Fight. Other combos, you will have to discover on your own or via your friends’ feeds, if they beat you to the punch.
Get ready, ‘cause only the roughest and toughest will win this Boss Fight!

We have some more updates, First collecting Boss fight consumables from our home page. Which can be collected every 23 hours Don't worry we all get 7 Consumables, the exact same 7

For some Reason Zynga have decide that Not only are fighting Bosses to hard, But we don't SPAM enough for them, So They have completely changed the system, Now we have to use Ammo to fight the Boss rather then Stamina, Oh and the old Consumables have also been thrown out the window!

The Ammo is as follows
1. Knife Slash – Drops in Jobs
2. Knuckle Punch – Drops in Fights
3. Crack of the Bat – Drops in Robbing
4. Shotgun Blasts – Requests only
The only Addition is "Combos" If you use 4 Ammos in a row in the correct order you will unlock a Combo dealing more damage to the Boss you are fighting Once we beat the first boss, we will be told our first Combo apart from that we have to Find them out via trial and error!

The Next boss on this new fight method is due out on the 10th of this month, Here is a picture of the banner ad that goes with it

Personally I'm reserving judgement of this new style of boss fights till after the event is released, I think its gonna suck, But then again they MIGHT finally fix the Boss Regen problems of the past!
But then again I can see a LOT more begging for consumables to beat the boss.... And it also means He with the most Energy/Stamina will have the most consumables and win the fastest, Not the one who's the strongest, So those players who have REALLY High Attack/Defence and yet have low Energy/Stamina now have no advantage in Boss Fights, And Energy accounts are likely to be the first to complete the Boss Fights!

Boss Fights, Die much?

We all know with the latest set of boss fights, that they are meaner then ever, doing more damage to us and taking even less then ever before! Considering the last boss at Ruby level has a cool 262K hitpoints I think its about time some pointers where published regarding Boss Fights!

I took the chance fighting my last bronze Boss (i know im behind) to take some screen shots fighting in different cities
Fighting in NY 322 damage dealt to the boss
Fighting in Bangkok 328 damage dealt to the boss

Fighting in Vegas 1656 damage dealt to the boss
Fighting in Italy 1530 damage dealt to the boss

Fighting in Brazil 312 damage dealt to the boss

So about 300 damage done in Each City except Italy and Las Vegas, both these cities I did 5 times the amount of damage! So Always head to one of those cities to take advantage of the extra damage you can do to the boss. They might ICE you just as fast doesn't matter where you are. but remember this pointer when you fight the last boss, and his 262K Hit points!

The other major problem with the latest set of boss fights is that they Regenerate their health without warning, Fight, Fight again get ICED, go heal, and find out they slipped off to the Hospital when you weren't looking. So some tips on how to Avoid boss regen
The most common mistake I MAKE is clicking to fast so make sure your healed before fighting a boss, going in with under 10 health, because you tried to heal to fast is going to make your Boss nice and healthy!

Receiving Gifts, and sending Gifts sometimes these will cause the dreaded boss regen as well

And lastly Clicking to fast, you will now see in the middle of your boss fight window a "Cooldown" and timer, if you click to fast, your almost guaranteed to be welcomed to boss who has 100% health again

So enjoy fighting your Brazilian Bosses in Italy or Vegas, sure its a unfair advantage to get them to fly over and meet you, but its Mafia Wars any advantage should be exploited
